Tree canopy of scattered polygon leaves
Free CAD block from the Trees in plan library (74 blocks), drawn 1:1.
About this block
Tree canopy of scattered polygon leaves, drawn in plan view. It measures 10' 11" wide and 10' 4" deep (3.32 m × 3.16 m), and it is drawn 1:1, full size, so it drops into any drawing set up in meters or in inches without rescaling.
From the Trees in plan library: 74 blocks drawn to one standard, each one available on its own.
In practice
Where it goes
Scattered polygon leaves give an open, airy crown that suits a light-canopied tree such as a birch or honey locust on a garden plan or a housing layout. Because the leaves are spaced apart, the symbol stays readable at ⅛ in = 1 ft (1:100) over a hatched lawn or paving, so it works where planting sits on top of ground finishes.
Clearances to leave
At 10 ft 11 in × 10 ft 4 in (332 × 316 cm) the crown is a little narrower front to back, so turn the block to suit a narrow border. Leave 8 ft (2.4 m) beneath it over a path, and if several are grouped keep the trunks 10–13 ft (3–4 m) apart so the canopies just touch at maturity.
Pairs with
Use it beside the Larger tree canopy of scattered polygon leaves to show a graded pair, or scatter three among shrubs drawn at 24–39 in (60–100 cm) spacing; the Tree ring of short ticks shaded on one side makes a quiet companion in the same corner.
Common questions
What are the dimensions of this block?
It measures 10' 11" | 3.32 m wide by 10' 4" | 3.16 m deep. The drawing is 1:1, full size, so it inserts at the right size in metric and in imperial drawings.
How much floor space does it take?
Its footprint is 112.9 ft² (10.49 m²). Leave at least 2' 11" of clear walkway on the sides people use.

Checks

Design notes
- Keep tree canopies at least 6' 7" from the house; large species need half their mature spread.
- A terrace for a table of four needs about 9' 10" × 9' 10" to move round it.
- Plan symbols at their real canopy size show clients how much shade a tree will give.
