Sliding door with tall panels and glazed sidelight
Free CAD block from the Doors in elevation library (148 blocks), drawn 1:1.
About this block
Sliding door with tall panels and glazed sidelight, drawn in plan, front and side elevation, the plan and the side elevation projected from its 3D model with hidden lines removed. It measures 7' 10" wide, 6' 11" high and 6½" deep (2.40 m × 2.10 m × 16 cm), and it is drawn 1:1, full size, so it drops into any drawing set up in meters or in inches without rescaling.
It also comes as a 3D model built from these drawings.
From the Doors in elevation library: 148 blocks drawn to one standard, each one available on its own.
In practice
Where it goes
A paneled sidelight next to the pair makes this a house entrance, drawn on the front elevation and on the section through the porch. The sidelight is fixed and the two leaves slide one behind the other, so the plan shows two offset leaves and no swing arcs. It suits a suburban villa or a duplex with a wide hall behind the door.
Clearances to leave
Of the 7 ft 10 in (240 cm) frame, about 29 in (74 cm) is the fixed glazed sidelight and the rest two leaves that slide one behind the other, opening about 31½ in (80 cm) under a 6 ft 11 in (210 cm) head. With no swing, the 60 in (152 cm) of hall behind it stays free for a bench and coats.
Pairs with
Three-leaf sliding door with tall upper panels is a related three-part composition for the inside. Slim mannequin figure with narrow waist, arms at sides stands at the door. Finish the sidelight panels in the same color as the leaves.

3D model
Built at real size from the front drawing, from its front elevation: each leaf a panel of its own in one of two tracks, the back leaves running on behind the front ones, aluminium tracks at the sill and the head, the glazed openings in glass and the panels in a second tone; the arrows drawn on the elevation are only the sliding symbol and are not built. Drag to orbit, underneath too; scroll or pinch to zoom.

Design notes
- Street trees are usually planted 19' 8" to 32' 10" apart, at least 3' 3" from the curb.
- A parallel parking bay is about 6' 7" to 8' 2" wide and 18' 1" to 19' 8" long.
- People and cars at real size give clients an instant sense of scale in a facade drawing.
