Narrow single bed with diagonal duvet edge
Free CAD block from the Beds with clearances library (86 blocks), drawn 1:1.
About this block
Narrow single bed with diagonal duvet edge, drawn in plan, front and side elevation, the front and side elevations projected from its 3D model with hidden lines removed. It measures 2' 7" wide, 6' 3" deep and 3' 3" high (80 cm × 1.90 m × 1.00 m), and it is drawn 1:1, full size, so it drops into any drawing set up in meters or in inches without rescaling.
It also comes as a 3D model built from these drawings.

In practice
Where it goes
Bunk rooms, ski chalets, staff quarters and youth hostels where an 31 in (80 cm) bed is drawn tight to the wall. The diagonal duvet edge gives a quick visual cue to which way the sleeper gets in, useful when beds are stacked or set in rows. Use it on plans and bunk sections for sleeping-pod and dormitory layouts.
Clearances to leave
Keep 24 in (60 cm) on the open side of the 31 in (80 cm) bed; where rows face each other, leave 36 in (90 cm) between beds so two people can make them at once. The short 6 ft 3 in (190 cm) length lets a row of them fit a 9 ft 2 in (280 cm) deep room with a foot passage.
Pairs with
Match it with Narrow single bed with folded triangular flap for an upper and lower bunk, and set Narrow single bed with one nightstand at the end of the row. Painted plywood bunk frames sit well with a simple diagonal fold.
Common questions
What are the dimensions of this block?
It measures 2' 7" | 80 cm wide by 6' 3" | 1.90 m deep. The drawing is 1:1, full size, so it inserts at the right size in metric and in imperial drawings.
Is there a 3D model of this block?
Yes. A 3D model built from this block's drawings, 2' 7" wide, 6' 3" deep and 3' 3" high, is free to download in STEP, DXF 3D, OBJ, GLB, 3MF and STL. It is a closed part, so it also prints at 1:50 or 1:100 for a scale model.
File formats, AutoCAD versions and units are explained on the formats page; every file is free for personal and commercial work under the license.

- Keep the door swing free of furniture, and avoid placing the bed in line with the door.
