Where it goes
A driveway gate for a country house, a stable yard or a small farm, drawn on the boundary elevation and on the site elevation where the fence meets the lane. The curved cross rail is the decorative touch that separates it from a working barn gate, so it suits the front entrance rather than the back. Draw it closed, with the latch post marked.
Clearances to leave
An opening of 9 ft 3 in (281 cm) lets a car through at the 9 ft (270 cm) stall width with about 2 in (5 cm) to spare each side. Each leaf of 55 in (140 cm) swings inward; keep 10 ft (300 cm) of driveway clear behind the posts before the turning area. The top rail reaches 7 ft 7 in (230 cm).
