Whirlpool tubs go into hotel suites, spa rooms and larger houses, and this plan shows the pump housing as well as the central drain so the MEP engineer can route the power and the drain line. Draw it in the corner of the floor plan, pump side against the wall with an access panel, drain over the nearest floor drain.
Clearances to leave
The footprint is 6 ft 2 in × 4 ft 9 in (188 × 144 cm), bigger in both directions than a 67 in (170 cm) bay, and the pump needs a 16 × 16 in (40 × 40 cm) access hatch. Keep 30 in (75 cm) clear on the open side and a 12 in (30 cm) chase for the air lines.
