About this block
Mannequin figure seated with hands behind head, drawn in front elevation. It measures 2' 6" wide and 4' 5" high (77 cm × 1.35 m), and it is drawn 1:1, full size, so it drops into any drawing set up in meters or in inches without rescaling.

In practice
Where it goes
Hands behind the head is the relaxed, leaning-back pose for a lounge section, a hotel room elevation showing the armchair, a staff room, a movie theater recliner or a terrace elevation with outdoor seating. Seat it in a high-backed lounge chair in a section so the elbows clear the chair back and the wings.
Clearances to leave
Spread elbows take the figure to 30 in (77 cm), so a chair with arms should be 32–36 in (80–90 cm) overall or the elbows show over the arms; a 53 in (135 cm) seated height means a 55 in (140 cm) shelf behind the chair just clears the head. Keep 24 in (60 cm) behind to pass.
Pairs with
Combine it with the Mannequin figure seated with legs crossed, hands on knee for two contrasting attitudes in a waiting room, and with the Seated mannequin figure, elbows spread, hands behind head in plan. On the Three-seat sofa with plump arms and three pillows it fills the center seat.
