In practice
Where it goes
Knees apart with hands on the thighs is the broad, relaxed sitter for a bench, a changing-room plan, a bus shelter, a stadium row or a waiting room with bench seating. Put it on the benches of a changing-room plan to count places, or along the seats of a bus-stop layout.
Clearances to leave
The open knees widen the figure to 22 in (55 cm), so bench places should be set at 24–26 in (60–65 cm) rather than squeezed, and the 26 in (65 cm) depth means a bench against a wall needs 36 in (90 cm) of free floor in front for feet and passing. A 18 in (45 cm) bench height suits it.
Pairs with
Seat it beside the Seated mannequin figure with forearms forward, knees apart at a counter, with the Mannequin figure seated with hands resting on thighs in the section. Three on the Three-seat sofa with slim arms and projecting seat fill it edge to edge.
