In practice
Where it goes
Arms reaching down to the knees in plan is a compact sitter, suited to tight seats: movie theater rows, bus and train layouts, lecture hall plans and stadium seating. Use it where the seat pitch is tight and the figure must not spill into the row in front, like a movie theater plan or a motorcoach layout.
Clearances to leave
Only 24 in (60 cm) deep, the figure fits an 33–36 in (85–90 cm) movie theater row pitch with 10 in (25 cm) left for feet, and at 20 in (50 cm) wide it suits a 20 in (52 cm) seat. In a lecture hall allow a 18 in (45 cm) deep writing ledge in front.
Pairs with
Fill a movie theater plan with this and the Seated mannequin figure, hands resting near knees in alternate rows, and use the Mannequin figure seated upright, hands on knees for the section. Pairs of two on the Shallow two-seat sofa with curved back corners fit a foyer.
